The discriminatory dress code violates the constitutional right to seek happiness, so a complaint has been filed with the National Human Rights Commission of Korea to correct it.

Mr. A was looking for a job at a beauty salon in Cheongju, Chungbuk.



In the interview, she said she was asked, "I have to wear skirts, is that possible?"



[Mr. A: (wearing a skirt) When I said it was difficult, I was eliminated from the interview.] I



finally got a job at another beauty salon, but the uniform here was also a short skirt.



[Mr. A: There was a lot of prone work.

I had to move my body while lowering the object above or sweeping the floor, but it was uncomfortable enough to be limited...

Mr. B, who worked at a department store in Gyeonggi-do, worked in the underground parking lot all day, but he was dressed in skirts and shoes.



[Park Ji-young/Attorney (B, Deputy Complainant): After shopping, men and women do the same thing to load a lot of luggage into a cart and load it into the car.

Women mainly had to wear skirts, and only shoes provided by the company...

Attorney Ji-young Park, who received the report, recently filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission on behalf of Mr. B, saying that the opportunity to choose clothes was limited and discriminated against men for no reason.



Last year, the so-called ‘Gutu’ movement was actively conducted in Japan to find the right not to wear shoes by adding the Japanese Gutsu and Me Too movements, which mean shoes, but similar movements are being held in Korea.

Attorney Park is going to file a complaint on behalf of the informants not only of Mr. B, but also of other allegations of dress discrimination.
