• COLLECTION The culinary 'talent' launches its own selection made by Javier Gila, five-time Spanish sommelier champion and president of the Madrid Sommelier Association

Throughout its history in our country (it started in 2013), the

MasterChef

contest

, in its quest to find the

best amateur chef

, has aroused interest -even the vocation- for gastronomy ... Products, restaurants, elaborations, chefs, wineries ... and wines.

Now, the

culinary

talent

-which is in full emission of the

Junior edition

and that this Christmas will issue a special

MasterChef Abuelos-

has launched a collection of wine references selected by a great connoisseur of the world of oenology, Javier Gila.

A collection that, for the most part, is already

available

for us to enjoy at home.

The members of this

selector

are more than solid: vice-president of the Union of Spanish Sommelier Associations;

member of the Spanish Union of Tasters;

President of the Madrid Sommelier Association;

five-time champion of sommeliers of Spain;

master of sommeliers

, with extensive experience in restaurants, wine bars and luxury hotels ...

So, knowingly and with the collaboration of

large

Spanish

wineries

, Gila has chosen eight wines of different varieties and denominations of origin and with different profiles and characteristics to make up the

MasterChef

winery

.

THE COLLECTION

As reds he has opted for a

Tempranillo

and a

Syrah

.

The first is a Ribera del Duero of four months in barrel (2018 vintage), made with grapes from a limestone moor at

high altitude above sea level

and that offers a harmonious combination of bitter, sweet and acid in the mouth.

The second is a

classic red

, strong and dark in color, which stands out for its intensity.

Javier Gila, the expert sommelier who has selected the wines.

For fans of whites, Gila has chosen three: an

Albariño

from Rías Baixas from 2019 - from a vineyard over 100 years old - which stands out for its

fruit load

and for being very tasty;

a

Verdejo

de Rueda from 2019 -elegant and complex, but also fresh and young-, in which aromas of orange peel and fresh apple are perceived, and a

sauvignon blanc

from Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla-La Mancha, with tropical notes and French.

The world of

rosés

also has a representative.

Made under the name Cigales, it is fruity, with citrus touches.

The other two wines that make up the MasterChef winery, which is

waiting to be commercialized

, are a reference from the DO

Rioja

and a

sparkling

from Penedés.

The objective of the

culinary

talent

is to expand its liquid offer and cover the entire national geography.

The six wines

are available on the Club MasterChef website and are presented in different

formats

: MasterChef Christmas Selection (which includes six bottles. 39.95 euros), in a pack of three (from 15.65 to 26.80 euros) and individual .
