France has experienced very hot months throughout this year 2020. Unheard of, according to data made public by Météo France.
“
This year 2020, despite slightly decreasing greenhouse gas emissions globally with the Covid-19 crisis, will nevertheless be the hottest in France.
For example, this year 2020, over the twelve months, we will finally have ten months which are significantly warmer than normal,
”explains Christine Berne, climatologist at Météo France.

A global trend
But it is a trend that is not only French.
It is "
global
".
"
This temperature increase is also associated, in many regions, with a sharp increase
in droughts
and intense precipitation phenomena which are sometimes deadly or cause enormous damage
", continues Christine Berne.
Barring exceptional cooling, there are only ten days left for 2020 to rise among the hottest years ever recorded in France.
It should therefore take the first place on the podium, followed by 2018 (13.9 ° C) and 2014 (13.8 ° C).
Another sign of this warming: of the 120 years since these national averages were recorded, the six hottest years have been recorded
since 2011
