Life imprisonment was required against Ayoub El Khazzani on Tuesday at the special assize court in Paris.

The man had been subdued by passengers on a Thalys train while he was attempting to carry out an attack in August 2015.

Life imprisonment was required on Tuesday against Ayoub El Khazzani, the gunman on board the Thalys Amsterdam-Paris in August 2015 that passengers had succeeded in controlling, thus avoiding a massacre.

Eight to 30 years in prison were required against the three defendants tried alongside him before the special assize court in Paris, suspected of having helped Ayoub El Khazzani and Abdelhamid Abaaoud, coordinator of this attack and the attacks of November 13, to reach Belgium from Syria.
