Reporter Nam Joo-hyun, who is covering Corona 19, is here.

Q. The President and the Prime Minister have repeatedly remarked on Corona 19?

[Reporter Nam Joo-hyun: It's been three days since President Moon Jae-in said that he could see the end of a long tunnel with vaccines and treatments.

We sent a message saying we regret not being able to quickly stabilize the corona situation.

It means that the situation has become so urgent.

Both the president and the prime minister cited the bedridden issue as the most pressing issue.

In addition, at the corona19 party meeting held yesterday at the National Assembly, there is no sharp point now except for securing beds.

It is said that such an atmosphere was dominant.]

Q. Why the lack of critically ill beds continues?

[Reporter Joo-Hyun Nam: The health authorities have announced plans to secure 270 treatment beds for critically ill patients with Corona 19 by Tuesday, and 330 by the end of the year.

In fact, the number of beds dedicated to critically ill patients with Corona 19 increased little by little from three days ago to 214.

However, the reason that the number of beds that can be used right away has not increased significantly is that the patient currently being treated from that bed must be moved to another place where it can be safely treated, which takes time.

In addition, a dedicated hospital and life treatment center that will take care of patients who are not critically ill will also secure 1,000 beds each, so that they can receive treatment within a day after being confirmed.

That is the government's goal now.]

Q. What is the solution to the shortage of medical staff?

[Reporter Joo-Hyeon Nam: Once the temporary screening office is started at the beginning of next week, the number of confirmed cases can be increased temporarily.

That means that there are more places that require medical staff, from screening treatments to critically ill treatment.

First of all, the 4th graders decided to volunteer at the temporary screening office to help.

And manpower that can take care of severely ill patients.

For example, in the case of trauma centers and nurses, originally only trauma patients should be seen, but restrictions have been lifted so that they can temporarily care for COVID-19 patients.

In order to overcome this hurdle, cooperation between the health authorities and the medical community is urgent.]
