Professors at Seoul National University criticized the confrontation between Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae and Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol as "subordinate to the prosecution to submit to power."

Today (7th), Seoul National University social education professor Young-dal Cho held an online press conference and made a statement on the subject of'concerns about regression of democracy'. Ten professors at the college of Seoul National University joined this.

Professor Cho stated that the press conference "is the intention to convey what our society should pay attention to and feel a sense of crisis in the flow of history regardless of politics."

He pointed out that "the deterioration of the rule of law and hostile confrontation politics and the regression of democracy reminiscent of an authoritarian government in the past are intensifying extreme social conflicts and ideological confrontations, and the lives of the people are shaken."

He then emphasized, "It is a great challenge to the rule of law to discipline the prosecutor general with a guaranteed term of office, despite the fact that there are many internal disagreements, without a clear confirmation of whether it is a serious offense."

He also said, "The idea that the elected powers will take full control stems from the incomprehension of democracy," he said. "In any case, controlling the transfer of power with the principle of checks and balances is the core of our constitution." Let’s watch the video together.
