Facebook warns that companies will no longer be able to use certain Facebook Messenger options from December 16 due to European privacy regulations.
Businesses can use Messenger to automatically address customers.
Certain functions will expire on December 16, such as showing attachments and showing buttons.
The adaptation affects all 27 EU countries and Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and the United Kingdom.
Pages with administrators from these countries as well as European citizens who chat with company accounts will be affected.
Facebook recommends that companies build an "alternative experience" with plain text and URLs.
