Lee Yong-gu, the newly appointed Deputy Attorney General, made his first appearance at the Gwacheon Ministry of Justice office this morning.

Although all reforms are accompanied by great pain, he said, “I know that the people are worried especially this time.” He stressed that he will complete the reform task with Minister Choo Mi-ae.

Deputy Minister Lee said he knows that there are criticisms that procedural justice has not been observed in relation to the disciplinary procedure for the Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol.

He then said that he would only work in accordance with due process and legal principles, asking him to watch the results without predicting the results.

It is interpreted as a remark conscious that the court decided to suspend the action, saying that Minister Choo Mi-ae's exclusion from President Yoon's duties was unfair, and the Ministry of Justice's supervisory committee also issued opposition.

Amidst this, Vice Minister Lee is known to be in charge of defending the Wolseong nuclear power plant incident under the Daejeon District Prosecutor's Office.

For this reason, he expressed his willingness to enforce that the reason for the disciplinary claim and the Wolseong nuclear power plant case are completely irrelevant to the criticism of whether it is inappropriate to enter the disciplinary committee of President Yoon.

Previously, President Moon Jae-in appointed a new vice-minister Lee Yong-gu as the replacement of former Deputy Attorney General Koki-young, who resigned against the holding of the disciplinary committee.
