Ministry of Justice has announced that it will postpone the disciplinary committee against Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol scheduled for tomorrow this afternoon to the 10th, next Thursday.

Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae said he has decided to postpone the disciplinary committee schedule in order to ensure the procedural rights and sufficient defense rights claimed by Yoon.

Earlier, General Yoon rebelled, saying, "After the subpoena is served, a grace period of at least 5 days is required, but the disciplinary committee violated this."

Subsequently, this morning, I submitted an application to the Ministry of Justice to reassign the deadline stating that the deadline must be held after the 8th.

Initially, the Ministry of Justice held a position to enforce the disciplinary committee, refuting that President Yoon's claim that it would be against the law for the disciplinary committee to be held tomorrow was "a request without evidence."

However, a subtle change seems to have been detected this morning after the new Deputy Minister of Justice Lee Yong-gu said he would protect the procedural legitimacy.

[Yong-gu Lee/Deputy Minister of Justice: I will review everything based on the experience of the judge and handle the business in a fair, transparent and neutral way.]

In response, the Ministry of Justice said that the meeting of the disciplinary committee tomorrow was not legally problematic, but it was a measure in consideration of President Moon Jae-in's instruction to further ensure procedural legitimacy and fairness.
