The Prosecutor's Office of the Ministry of Justice unanimously concluded today (1st) that the disciplinary claim against Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, the suspension of his duties, and the process of requesting an investigation were unfair due to a procedural defect.

The inspection committee gathered at the Gwacheon Office of the Ministry of Justice from 10 am today and held a closed meeting for about 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Seven of the 11 committee members attended the meeting, including Chairman Kang Dong-beom.

Prosecutors Ryu Hyuk and Park Eun-jung attended the Ministry of Justice, and two persons, including attorney Wan-kyu Lee, attended as special representatives from President Yoon.

The inspectors listened to the progress of the inspector's investigation and the reasons for the disposition of Mr. Yoon.

Afterwards, President Yoon explained the illegality and unfairness of the request for disciplinary action and exclusion of duties for about 40 minutes.

At this meeting, attorney Wan-kyu Lee asked the prosecutors to "send an appropriate recommendation," saying, "The reason for the disciplinary action that Minister Chu held was not substantive and did not give enough opportunity to clarify."

After hearing explanations from the Ministry of Justice and President Yoon's side, the inspectors said, "There is a serious flaw in the procedure, such as not notifying President Yoon of the reason for the disciplinary claim, and not giving him an opportunity to clarify." We concluded that the disposition of the quest is inappropriate."

It is known that the supervisory commissioners argued at the meeting over the so-called ‘passing of the prosecutors’ commission, the change of the supervisory commission's advisory regulations, and allegations of violation of procedures during the prosecution process for Yun.

As a result, it was initially observed that the meeting would be finished in the morning, but the meeting was longer than expected.

They will deliver the summarized opinions to Justice Minister Chu Miae.

However, the results of discussions by the Supervisory Commission are not compelled, so they do not directly affect the results of the disciplinary committee meeting or deliberation.
