The average monthly premium per household for self-employed and local health insurance subscribers will rise by 8,245 won from this month.

This is due to reflecting changes in income and property in the calculation of fees.

Today (23), the National Health Insurance Corporation reflects the income attributable to 2019 (interest, dividends, business, earned income, etc.) and data on changes in this year's property table (building, housing, land, etc.) to the insurance premiums for households in the region. Sun) revealed.

The Corporation calculates the health insurance premiums of local subscribers by scoring their income and property. To this end, the income change under the Income Tax Act and the change in the property table under the Local Tax Act are reflected every November.

Accordingly, as a result of the calculation by reflecting the increase in income attributable to 2019 (11.04%) and the increase in property in 2020 (6.57%), the insurance premium for local subscribers in November increased by 8,245 won (9.0%) on average per household compared to the previous month.

However, because income and property fluctuations are different for each regional subscriber, not all regional subscribers' premiums increase.

There are also many local subscribers whose premiums do not rise or fall but remain the same or fall.

In fact, only 2.58 million households (33.5%), whose income and property increased from the previous year, out of the 7.71 million households in the region, have their premiums increased.

Insurance premiums remain unchanged for 3.67 million households (47.6%) with no change in income and property table.

Insurance premiums for 1.46 million households (18.9%), which were found to have declined in their income and property tables, will decrease.

In some cases, different standards for charging health insurance premiums may affect premiums.

From this year onwards, separate taxable financial income and separate taxable housing rental income, which means the total amount of interest income and dividend income exceeding 10 million won to 20 million won per year (housing rental income with a total of less than 20 million won per year) Also, insurance premiums are charged.

The Corporation explained, "As the separate taxable housing rental income is converted to taxation, health insurance premiums are imposed on about 28,000 households, but 4,700 households have been shown that the increase in the insurance premium burden is not significant due to the reduction in the premium increase." I did.
