Michael van Gerwen convincingly reached the quarter-finals of the Grand Slam of Darts on Saturday.

The number one in the world awarded Gary Anderson only two legs: 10-2.

In the last eight, Van Gerwen takes on Simon Whitlock.

The Australian settled with Adam Hunt on Friday (10-6).

Van Gerwen, who won the tournament in 2015, 2016 and 2017, is the only remaining Dutchman in the tournament.

For Dirk van Duijvenbode and Jermaine Wattimena, the curtain fell in the group stage.

The Grand Slam of Darts started on Monday and will last until Tuesday next week.

The winner will receive a cash prize of 125,000 British pounds (over 139,000 euros).

Gerwyn Price defends his title in Coventry, where the Grand Slam of Darts is being organized because of the corona pandemic. Normally, the only television tournament with a group stage takes place in Wolverhampton.
