The Chinese Aiways U5, an electric SUV, is now also available in the Netherlands.

The prices start at 39,950 euros and the first copies have to be delivered this year.

The Aiways U5 is the second electric car from China after the MG ZS EV, although the U5 with a length of 4.68 meters is a bit larger.

The stated basic price applies to the Standard version, which includes LED lighting all around, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable seats, a 12.3-inch touch screen for the multimedia system and a variety of driver assistance systems.

In addition, Aiways delivers the U5 as a Premium version.

This costs 43,950 euros and comes with additional equipment, including larger wheels, leather upholstery and seat heating.

The cars that will be delivered this year are so-called Showroom versions.

These are demo vehicles with a maximum of 3,000 kilometers on the clock.

In terms of equipment, they are between the Standard and Premium, which is also reflected in the price of 41,850 euros.

The powertrain consists of a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor and a 63 kWh battery pack.

This means that the Aiways U5, depending on the wheel size, has to reach 410 or 400 kilometers.

The distribution of the Aiways U5 takes place through a specially established branch, called Aiways Distribution Netherlands.

For the time being, there are branches in Breukelen and Kudelstaart.

The name of the chosen service partner will be announced at a later stage.
