Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office 2nd Division of Anti-Corruption Investigations obtained tax data from the tax authorities for Cobana Contents, the company of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's wife Kim Gun-hee.

Based on the warrant for seizure and search issued by the court, it has been reported that the Seocho Tax Office received tax data in the form of a voluntary submission.

It is said that the prosecution will first grasp the flow of suspicious funds based on tax data.

The prosecution recently requested a seizure and search warrant in connection with the suspicion of receiving a sponsorship fund from Covana Contents, but the court dismissed it, saying that there is a possibility of voluntary submission and that if the warrant is executed, the infringement of legal interests is serious.

In less than a week of dividends in the case, when warrants for seizure and search were dismissed one after another, pointed out that it was a hasty investigation.

When the prosecution began a full-scale investigation regarding the suspicion of manipulating the economic feasibility of Wolseong Unit 1, suspicions arose that the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office was an investigation of retaliation against General Yoon.

In response, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office said that the retaliation investigation is a completely different argument from the facts, and that the investigation will be conducted promptly in accordance with laws and principles without any political consideration to clarify the facts.

As soon as the analysis of tax data is completed, the prosecution will decide whether or not to conduct a compulsory investigation of Covana contents.
