Lee Chun-jae (56), who was adopted as a witness for the 8th retrial trial of the serial murder of Lee Chun-jae, who caused the'real criminal controversy', will appear in court on the afternoon of the 2nd.

Lee Chun-jae is scheduled to appear as a witness at the retrial court of Suwon District Law Criminal Division 12 (Director Judge Park Jeong-je) at around 1:30 pm today to testify about the case.

Earlier, the court decided to call Lee Chun-jae directly to the court in September when it was judged that the DNA was damaged and emotion was impossible after 30 years of on-site body hair, which is the conclusive evidence of this controversy.

If Lee Chun-jae is present as a witness today, it will be the first time to reveal himself to the public after confessing that he had committed a serial murder in the Hwaseong area of Gyeonggi Province that terrorized the whole country in the 1980s.

However, it is expected that the filming and disclosure of Lee Chun-jae's face will be difficult due to the court's decision not to permit.

Earlier, the judge denied filming at a trial on the 26th of last month, saying that Lee Chun-jae was merely a witness, not a defendant.

The Court Organization Act permits filming in court before the commencement of the trial or at the time of judgment, if necessary for the public interest or with the consent of the defendant.

However, because Lee Chun-jae is a witness, it is impossible to meet the rule that filming is permitted before the trial begins, because the trial proceeds with the procedure of appearing from the auditorium to the witness seat if the judge calls his name after the trial begins.

However, considering the public interest in the appearance and contents of Lee Chun-jae's testimony, the court plans to use a relay court in addition to the existing court so that as many audiences as possible can listen to Lee's testimony.

The 8th case of Lee Chun-jae is the case where a 13-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted and died at the house of Park Mo, Jinan-ri, Taean-eup, Hwaseong-gun, Gyeonggi-do on September 16, 1988.

Yoon Seong-yeo, 53, who was arrested as the culprit the following year, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the first trial and appealed, denying the charges, saying, "I made a false confession through the coercive investigation by the police." .

Yoon, who served 20 years in prison and was paroleed in 2009, filed a request for a reconsideration with the court in November of last year, after Lee Chun-jae's confession of the crime, and the court accepted it in January of this year and decided to initiate a retrial.
