Guest Monday from La France bouge, on Europe 1, Fabienne Dulac, deputy general manager of Orange, assures him: "The networks are working well", despite the overuse caused by massive teleworking.

"We will take 20 to 30 years to deploy the fiber network," she also warns.

"Yes, the networks are working well and the networks have held up well this year."

Guest Monday of France moves, on Europe 1, Fabienne Dulac, deputy general manager of Orange, wanted to reassure users, while France is living its fourth day of reconfinement.

"We have networks that are used to experiencing peak audiences," she says.

"Each year, consumption increases by 40%. So we are used to building networks that adapt," insists the manager.

How to explain, therefore, that there were so many network problems during the previous confinement, especially at the beginning?

“There were interconnection difficulties between the operators,” explains the manager.

According to her, the difficulties arose from the "multiplication by three" of voice calls, a phenomenon which is reproducing now.

“Since Thursday, we have found the peaks of the first confinement both on voice (note voice calls), on the Internet and on TV platforms. Already the curfew had changed consumer behavior,” explains Fabienne Dulac.

"Today, France is the country with the most fiber in Europe"

"The machines are well made. They have suffered and suddenly seen a kind of increase in peaks that they did not understand. So, they had to be reconfigured, readjusted", continues the leader.

Who ensures: "All the means have been put to adapt to the flow, to the uses of customers who have exploded and who will continue to explode."

The confinement also highlighted an inequality in access to the internet, in particular in the connection to fiber.

"Today, France is the country with the most fiber in Europe", defends Fabienne Dulac, according to whom "the confinement has accelerated things".

"We took 50 years to deploy the copper network. We will take 20 to 30 years to deploy the fiber network," she specifies, however.

"Today we have 10,000 technicians in the field. They are all mobilized. During the month of April we carried out a million operations", she continues, before concluding: "This year 2020 will be a year pivot."
