<Anchor> The

government said that social distancing, which had been divided into three stages so far, will be subdivided into five stages and applied from this Saturday, the 7th.

In preparation for the prolonged COVID-19 outbreak, basic quarantine rules are made mandatory and strengthened instead of minimizing facilities that completely block business.

Reporter Ahn Sang-woo reports.

<Reporter> If the

three steps of social distancing are subdivided into five steps, the gap between the step-by-step quarantine guidelines will narrow.

Business bans for private multi-use facilities, which have suffered significant economic damage due to the step-up, are minimized.

Instead of closing the business, we decided to reduce the density by limiting the number of people and operating hours.

In addition, different stages can be flexibly applied by region depending on the spread.

At present, the intensity of quarantine at each stage is large, and it seems that the point that caused great social confusion with each upgrade will be compensated.

Instead, compliance with quarantine regulations, such as wearing masks and managing the list of accessors, which were mandated only for 12 high-risk facilities in the first phase, will be expanded to 23 multi-use facilities.

In PC cafes, department stores, and wedding halls, you should also wear a mask.

In addition to multi-use facilities, it is compulsory to wear a mask in places where close contact is made, such as assembly, demonstration, medical institution, pharmacy, and call center.

This distance reorganization will be applied from the 7th.

It is necessary to reorganize the distance steps that are suitable for effectiveness, but the government must communicate key points effectively as the steps can become many and complex, which can lead to confusion about each standard.
