A court ruling that Interpark should compensate the members who suffered personal information leakage damages of 100,000 won per person.

According to the legal community on the 1st, the 30th Division of the Civil Agreement of the Seoul Central District Court (Deputy Judge Han Seong-su) ruled that some of the plaintiffs were won in a lawsuit against Interpark by 2,400 Interpark members.

In May 2016, Interpark was hacked into the computer network through an in-house PC, and more than 10 million customer information was leaked.

The court judged that "even though we were aware that the personal information of the plaintiffs had been leaked, it was notified only 14 days after that, so that we lost the opportunity to respond quickly to the leakage of personal information.

However, "there is no data to believe that additional legal interests have occurred due to leakage of personal information," he admitted as compensation of 100,000 won out of 300,000 won per person.

Meanwhile, Interpark was imposed a penalty of 4.48 billion won from the Korea Communications Commission for the loss of member information, and filed an administrative lawsuit to cancel it, but was finally lost in the Supreme Court in March.
