Hyundai has already sold 10,000 copies of the Nexo, the brand's hydrogen car, in its home country of South Korea.
That is more than double the number in 2019, the brand reports Friday.
Last year, 4,194 copies were registered in South Korea, for this year Hyundai is aiming for 10,100 copies.
Hydrogen cars are not yet commonplace, according to the brand's export figures.
Since its debut in 2018, the Nexo has been shipped 1,841 times.
Since then, slightly more than 180 copies have been registered in the Netherlands, 64 of which during the first nine months of this year.
The Nexo costs 83,995 euros here.
Hyundai is aiming for a production capacity of 50,000 hydrogen cars per year by 2030.
