All charges of embezzling tens of billions of won in Das' money and receiving a large bribe were all convicted.

Today, the Supreme Court confirmed a court ruling that sentenced former President Lee, who was accused of bribery and embezzlement, to 17 years in prison, a fine of 13 billion won, and an additional fine of 5.78 billion won.



It has been two years and six months since the former President Lee was handed over to trial in arrest in April of the previous year.



Former President Lee has been indicted and tried on charges of embezzling Das Hoesatdon, an automobile parts company, and taking large bribes, including Dozen's US litigation fees paid by Samsung Electronics on its behalf and $100,000 delivered by former National Intelligence Service Director Won Se-hoon.



Former President Lee, who was convicted of embezzlement of 24.6 billion won and bribery of 8.5 billion won in the first trial, was sentenced to 15 years in prison and a fine of 13 billion won in the second trial.



And today, the Supreme Court rejected both the former president's appeal and the prosecution's appeal, saying there was nothing wrong with the second trial decision.



Former President Lee said he was worried about the future of the country due to the fall of the rule of law, and expected the judiciary to be the last bastion of liberal democracy, but the Supreme Court protested that it was neither fair nor just.
