More than 70 people died after getting the flu vaccine this year.

However, the health authorities say that the causality between death and vaccination is very low based on the investigations so far, and the vaccination will continue on schedule.

According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the 29th, a total of 72 cases were reported to have died within a few days after vaccination by 0 o'clock on that day after starting this year's influenza vaccination.

This is an increase of 13 people from 59 people counted as of 0 o'clock on the 26th.

As for the age of the deceased, 31 people were in their 70s and 80s or older, respectively, 86% were those in their 70s and older, followed by 8 people in their 60s and 2 people in their 60s.

By region, there were 12 in Seoul, 10 in Gyeongnam, and 8 in Gyeonggi and Jeonnam.

The Agency for Disease Control and Prevention said, "As a result of analyzing 25 additional cases of death at the quick response meeting of the damage investigation group held on this day, we judged that the causality between death and vaccination was very low."

In addition, he said, "In all 71 cases reviewed so far, the causality between death and vaccination was very low, so we decided that it was not a situation to consider retesting the vaccine or suspending the national vaccination project."
