We have told the news several times that there are many people who suffer from Corona 19 and suffer from aftereffects without their sense of smell or taste returning even after being cured.

Research has shown that this may be due to immune cells attacking my body.

Medical reporter Cho Dong-chan will explain in detail.

Nurse Kim Seong-deok was diagnosed with a cure for Corona 19 in May, but he still does not feel the smell and taste well after five months.

[Kim Seong-deok (Has the aftereffects of curing Corona 19): I feel like my sense of smell and taste, so about 70% of them have not come back.

Food is often burned.] In a

study at the Catholic University of the Vatican, corona19 cures suffered from sequelae such as fatigue, shortness of breath, and joint pain, and in an American study, hair loss symptoms occurred in 26% of cured people.

In a variety of symptoms after the virus disappears, a US research team has published a study that suggests that'autoimmunity' may be the cause.

Autoimmune is a phenomenon in which immune cells attack my body, and rheumatoid arthritis is a typical example.

When Emory University in the U.S. had previously conducted a survey on autoimmune disease in patients who had no autoimmune disease and suffered from aftereffects after being diagnosed with a cure for Corona 19, it was confirmed in 59%.

The research team analyzed that the Corona 19 virus may create new autoimmunity, but it may play a role in triggering this in people who have not yet activated autoimmunity.

In particular, this autoimmune phenomenon was more pronounced in severely ill patients, and not only can autoimmunity be used as an indicator to predict the severity of COVID-19, but there is also a possibility that autoimmune disease treatments can be used to treat patients with severe COVID-19.

This study is also expected to raise awareness as much as it can damage the immune system even if the corona19 virus disappears.
