Unstopped passage for 1 hour due to fire at Hoegi Station "Resume normal operation"

Today (27th) around 6:30 am, a fire broke out during the escalator replacement work in Hoegi Station in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.

The fire extinguished in about 30 minutes without harm.

However, as smoke filled the station, trains on Line 1, Gyeongui Jungang Line, and Gyeongchun Line passed the station for about an hour, causing inconvenience to passengers on their way to work.

KORAIL said it had normalized train operations from 7:30 after the smoke was removed.
