An apartment in Seoul is controversial over the iron fence without permission for the entire complex.

The government office is telling you to walk because it is not permitted, but the residents are saying that they cannot.

If you hear this far, it may be because of the selfishness of the residents, but when you hear the story, there are many things to think about.

Reporter Lim Tae-woo went to the scene.

<Reporter> This

is a luxury apartment complex in Gangnam, Seoul.

Iron fences are draped along the outer perimeter of the apartment.

The door was slightly open, but a security card reader was attached to make it difficult for outsiders to enter and exit.

[Security staff: Do not shoot.

(Yes?) You can't shoot.] This

rebuilt apartment complex was an open structure with no fences when moving in last year.

However, there were many hikers crossing the complex because it was sandwiched between the entrance of the trail and the bus stop, and they built a fence at the end of last year saying that they keep throwing away trash.

[Residents: Grandparents and grandparents in their 60s and 70s gather together to unpack something and eat.

When I eat, I have to throw out the trash now, but I don't go with it.

Just leave the trash and go...

.] The

place where I am standing is the entrance door of the apartment facing the mountain trail.

As you can see, there is an iron door that is taller than a person.

After the fence is laid, hikers have to go around the complex for about a kilometer.

[Climber: It's good to come in and out, isn't it your own?

It is a little rejected to do (install a fence) like your own kingdom.] The

problem is that this fence is an illegal installation.

It was not even approved by the ward office, and the conditions of the original reconstruction permit also contained a message not to build a fence to strengthen communication with neighbors.

Gangnam-gu Office filed a complaint with the Suseo Police Station in May and recently ordered the demolition, but the apartment side is consistent with holding on.

Experts advise that it is right to remove the fence for public good, even if it is a private property, but that it is necessary to seek various solutions, such as supporting cleaning costs by local governments.
