The Darkest Dungeon board game is a

hit

on KickStarter -

In 2016, the video game

Darkest Dungeon was released

, a dungeon-crawler RPG where stress management played an important role.

The title was a great success when it was released.

Four years later, the game is about to be released as a board game thanks to a crowdfunding campaign.

And here again, success is there.

The campaign reached its goal of 250,000 euros in less than 24 hours on Kickstarter.

And it exceeded 1.2 million euros in just two days, a sum which should double at the end of the campaign which ends on November 6.

Darkest Dungeon: The Board Game

therefore takes the form of a cooperative dungeon crawler-type board game for up to 4 players, like the original video game.

Adventurers will have to explore various dungeons while paying attention to enemies, but especially to the madness that awaits them.

The main enemy of adventurers will indeed be madness, worse than death, but also the pain inflicted on them by the twisted inhabitants of the dungeons.

A game reserved for strategists

Players will need to complete 11 missions to complete the campaign.

Each dungeon has 3 missions, as well as a final boss.

Players will be able to choose the skills of their hero and improve him as he progresses which will be done on a turn-based basis.

It will therefore be necessary to be a strategist to advance in the adventure without being massacred by the enemies.

The box will include many parts pre-assembled, but not painted.

The first deliveries of the board game are scheduled for November 2021. It will still cost 85 euros or more to receive the game box. Note that the participatory campaign will be the only way to get the game since it will not be not sold in stores.
