The social network Twitter has changed the 'retweet' function to encourage users to add a comment to the publication and not leave it blank.
It is a temporary measure that is given, to a large extent, by the holding of elections in November in the US.
Now, by pressing the 'retweet' button, users will not be able to share certain news in the traditional way: it will be mandatory to include a comment, even if said comment is simply a word that has nothing to do with the information itself.
The company has stressed through its official account that this new 'retweet' function will be only a temporary change.
This change comes after the end of September, Twitter announced that it will add reminders for users to read a story before sharing it.
Twitter began testing this feature in June, sending a reminder to users who are going to share a story without first clicking on the link.
After three months of testing, the company claimed that with this feature, users open articles 40 percent more often after viewing the notification.
