Three vehicles collided in a chain in the Mungyeong 2 tunnel, and a car fire occurred in the tunnel. At this time, the first tow drivers who arrived at the site pulled a hose from the fire hydrant to extinguish the fire, and prevented a major accident. I am impressed.

At around 17:30 pm on the 11th, an accident occurred in which three vehicles collided one after another in the Mungyeong 2 tunnel of the Jungbu Inland Expressway.

The SUV car crashed after the accident was soon engulfed in flames.

At this time, Park Jong-hee, a tow driver, was dispatched after receiving a report that a fire had occurred due to a collision in the tunnel.

He ran to the scene of the fire using the shoulder to avoid the long lines in front of the tunnel.

Mr. Park told the situation at the time, saying, "The rest of the damaged vehicles were stopped 50 meters in front of the burned vehicle," and "the fire vehicle caught fire and started to burn."

When he got to the scene, he started looking for a firefight in the tunnel.

This is because fire hydrants were installed in tunnels longer than 1 km and tunnel fire extinguishers less than 1 km were installed.

Park Jong-hee said, "The fire hydrant is right on the right, so I ran to the hydrant first."

He said, "I thought I had to turn off the fire because it could cause more damage if a problem occurred because of a fire inside the tunnel."

"Aren't you afraid?" he said, "I thought I could turn it off if I turn it off right now," he said.

He replied calmly, "I know a little about the car, so I didn't think about my (safety) because I thought that if I caught the fire now, there would be no more damage."

He extinguished the fire before the firefighters even arrived, preventing it from spreading in a major accident.

Park Jong-gyun, head of the command team at the Mungyeong Fire Department, Gyeongbuk, said, "The dispatch was delayed because the shoulder road was congested. When we arrived at the site, the driver of the Wrecker car had already extinguished the fire using an indoor fire hydrant," he said at the time.

He said, "It was confirmed that there was no human injury due to the initial digestion of the lekkercha driver."

This was not the first time Park Jong-hee's fire was extinguished.

He has received fire fighting training and safety training from Korea Expressway Corporation.

"I usually knew the location of the fire hydrant," he said. "A few years ago, a truck in a tunnel had a fire, and I had the experience of putting out a fire with a fire hydrant."

The Mungyeong Fire Department in Gyeongsangbuk-do delivered a plaque of appreciation to the two drivers who initially extinguished a tunnel fire that could lead to large-scale human damage.

Park Jong-gyun, head of the field response team at the Mungyeong Fire Department in Gyeongsangbuk-do, "I think the situation 5 minutes before the fire brigade arrives at the disaster site is very important, but I think it is fortunate that the towing crew can extinguish the fire with a fire hydrant to prevent secondary damage. "He said, "I am grateful for the hard work of the knights and were impressed."

Mr. Park Jong-hee said, "I received a call from the fire department saying that they were giving me a plaque of appreciation," and said, "It's nothing but I was really ashamed to give it to me."

Brave tow knights who put out the lights, let's see them in the video.
