The number of attendance at kindergartens and elementary and junior high schools nationwide will be eased from one-third to two-thirds starting today (19th).

High schools maintain a two-thirds density level as before.

In the non-metropolitan area, all students can attend school by determining by region or school in consideration of the infectious disease situation.

On the other hand, in the metropolitan area where there is a high risk of group infection, the density is maintained at two-thirds, but only those in the lower grades are allowed to attend school every day.

In fact, from today, the Seoul and Incheon Offices of Education have made the first graders of elementary school to attend school every day and adjust the number of attendance at other grades appropriately.

In addition, the Gyeonggi-do Office of Education has guided front-line schools to expand school attendance by prioritizing the lower grades.

As a result, school attendance is expected to expand nationwide starting today for lower elementary school students who have raised concerns about the gap in caring and education.

The Ministry of Education believes that the burden of teachers may increase due to quarantine, class preparation, time difference attendance, and the introduction of morning and afternoon classes, and nationally, 47,000 people, 7,000 more than the first semester, are invested as support personnel such as school quarantine.
