Board games are on the rise on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform.

Some projects have indeed raised crazy sums, including the now famous

Frosthaven

which raised more than 11 million euros a few months ago.

And the new game from French publisher Serious Poulp could also be part of Kickstarter's success stories.

In just three weeks, the 7th Citadel board game has indeed raised more than 2 million euros in funding thanks to contributions from more than 26,000 Internet users.

This board game combines exploration and cooperative adventure in the heart of a post-apocalyptic fantasy medieval world.

In

7th Citadel

, players - up to 4 per game - take on the role of "convict gardeners" who have escaped the Citadel to escape the oppression of the Necrodruids, but their respite will be short-lived as they will face a much greater threat.

Players will be able to explore the Collapsed Lands and gradually reveal the board, like in a video game, thanks to numbered terrain and event cards.

They will be able to interact with their environment and dialogue with the inhabitants.

The choices of the players and their experience on their field will have an impact on their adventure which will lead them inexorably to the Threat.

An immersive adventure

Largely inspired by the series of novels "Of which you are the hero", the board game offers an immersive adventure influenced by the choices and the actions of the players.

Each match can last up to 1000 minutes of playtime and lead players to the Threat, unless they perish first.

The

7th Citadel

adventure

indeed offers to live an adventure over time, but a simple saving system is integrated into the game.

In addition to the basic board game which will include many pieces and cards, as well as various objects, Serious Poulp offers a whole set of additional cards and accessories to enrich the adventure and make the fun last.

By participating in the fundraising campaign, board game enthusiasts will benefit from numerous bonuses, including 15 stretch goals and 63 additional various cards.

Count 69 euros for the Collector's Edition.

The campaign will end in a few days and the first deliveries are expected in May 2022.
