White particles were found in some products of the Korean vaccine company's influenza tetravalent vaccine,'Coboxflu', and more than 610,000 were recovered.

On the 6th, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety received a report from a public health center in Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and collected and tested the product after receiving a report that white particles were found in the flu vaccine. He said he had ordered the retrieval.

The components of the white particles are 99.7% protein and 0.3% silicone oil, and the expert advisory meeting of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety concluded that it is an antigenic protein aggregate.

One of the advisory committee members, Choi Won-seok, a professor of infectious medicine at Korea University Ansan Hospital, explained that aggregation of antigenic proteins is not very rare, and side effects such as pain or swelling may occur at the injection site, but the risk of systemic adverse reactions is not high.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said that the vaccine to be recovered was vaccinated to 17,812 people as of 3 p.m., and one of them had local pain.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety asked medical institutions to stop using the product and cooperate with the recall of the company.

In the course of transportation, it was confirmed that refrigerated distribution standards were well followed.
