Jeju Island, which has done its best to respond to Corona 19 during the Chuseok holiday, is again tense ahead of the Hangul Day holiday.

The Jeju Island Tourism Council predicted that a total of 95,000 people will visit Jeju Island for four days from today (8th) to the 11th, one day before Hangeul Day.

It is down more than 30% compared to last year's Hangul Day holiday, when 137,000 people visited it, but it is more than half of the 195,000 visitors during the Chuseok holiday.

Jeju Island, which previously said that it will maintain the quarantine emergency system until the 18th, considering the virus incubation period after the Chuseok holiday, emphasized that "we will always maintain the quarantine posture at the border level to protect the lives and safety of the residents and citizens."

In accordance with the high-intensity quarantine guidelines, visitors entering Jeju International Airport and Jeju Port by the 11th must undergo a corona 19 diagnostic test if their body temperature is 37.5 degrees or higher, and must be quarantined until results are obtained.

In addition, Jeju Island announced that it will organize a joint inspection team with the Tourism Organization and Tourism Association to check compliance with the quarantine rules for hotel condos, campsites, amusement parks, and recreational pensions from the 9th to 11th.

Although the inspection has already been completed during the Chuseok holiday, the policy is to repeatedly inspect the Corona 19 quarantine so that it can continue to operate systematically.

Despite a large crowd during the Chuseok holiday, there have been no confirmed cases of Corona 19 in Jeju Island since the 23rd of last month. However, experts in the field of infection emphasized, "Considering the average incubation period for Corona 19, the effects of Chuseok will begin to be seen this weekend." I did.
