Optimus has hired a number of big-name figures, from former vice-prime prime ministers to former bank chiefs, as advisors.

The role of advisors in the process of rolling 1.5 trillion won is also the subject of investigation by the prosecution. As a result of our coverage, former Prosecutor General Chae Dong-wook was also listed as an advisor.

The role of various advisors is described in detail in the document to treat defects in Optimus Asset Management Fund obtained by SBS.

Among these, Chae Dong-wook, former prosecutor general, stands out.

Regarding a logistics complex project, it is written, "Chief President Chae interviewed the local government head on May 8, 2020, and confirmed fast track progress."

At the same time, it is also stated that "the time of licensing is September, and the estimated margin is 168 billion won."

The document states that this project is being promoted by a corporation managed by Mr. Mo Lee, the second largest shareholder of Optimus. If the business is successful, it is stated that the problem of Optimus' insolvency can be resolved by recovering funds.

As local residents and local governments oppose the construction of the logistics complex due to concerns about traffic congestion, there are doubts that former President Chae Dong-wook has set out to resolve the problem.

In response, Chae said in a phone call with SBS that he was invited to eat on the day written in the document and met the head of the group with several people.

At this meeting, he mentioned the attraction of logistics complex business to the head of the group to lead the economy well, and explained that he received an answer saying'I have such an idea.'

However, he explained that it was not a request for a license for a distribution complex only through a general conversation.

The head of the local government said, "There is no evidence, and there is no involvement at all."

Former President Chae Dong-wook resigned from his post as an advisor in June this year when the prosecution investigation began.
