return parade started in earnest from yesterday afternoon, a day before the Chuseok holiday.

The congestion is gradually clearing up after peaking between 6 and 7 pm yesterday.

The overall road situation is smooth, and there is a slow flow of vehicles in the vicinity of Cheonan Junction on the Gyeongbu Line towards Busan and near Nami Junction on the Jungbu Line towards Nami.

From Seoul now, it takes 5 hours 20 minutes to Busan, 4 hours 40 minutes to Gwangju, 4 hours 40 minutes to Mokpo, and 2 hours 40 minutes to Gangneung.

Highway Corporation predicted the busiest of the five days during the Chuseok holiday between 11am and 12pm today.

The road construction, however, predicted that the level of congestion would be somewhat less due to reduced traffic compared to the previous year.

The Korea Highway Corporation predicted that the average number of highways used per day during this holiday season will be 4.5 million units, 28% less than that of Chuseok last year.

Highway tolls, which have been exempted from every holiday so far, are normally collected during this holiday season, and seats in all highway rest areas managed by the Korea Highway Corporation are prohibited until the 4th of the following month due to Corona 19.

Eating and drinking in the rest area is also completely prohibited and only packaging is allowed.

The government asked to refrain from visiting hometowns and asked to keep wearing masks and minimize the amount of time spent at rest areas even if they go.
