“The city administration, in agreement with the state corporation“ Roscosmos ”, decided not to hold festive events on October 4 to mark the 65th anniversary of the Baikonur cosmodrome,” the message says.

Morozova explained this by the fact that at the suggestion of the chief state sanitary doctor of the Baikonur complex, restrictive measures continue to be preserved in the city.

It is also specified that at the moment, ensuring the successful launch of the Soyuz MS-17 manned transport vehicle is a priority task for the city administration.

Earlier it was reported that the launch of the South Korean satellite CAS500-1 from the Baikonur cosmodrome was postponed to early 2021.
