In the Côtes-d'Armor, a septuagenarian was found dead in an apartment where a fire had broken out.

"The fire started in an apartment closed from the inside. The origin is not yet determined, perhaps candles," said the prosecutor of the Republic of Saint-Malo.

A septuagenarian was found dead in an apartment where a fire of unknown origin had broken out during the night from Friday to Saturday, in the seaside resort of Saint-Cast, in the Côtes-d'Armor, a-t- we learned on Saturday from the prosecution. 

An investigation is underway

"The fire broke out in an apartment closed from the inside. The origin has not yet been determined, perhaps candles," said Saint-Malo public prosecutor Christine Le Crom.


The victim, born in 1946, resided year round in the town.

"The investigation is underway and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday," said the magistrate.
