“We decided to name him Yuri, because, probably, it is clear for what reasons.
He will be our mascot and will spend with us all the time from start to landing.
Such a small talisman will remind of home, of our loved ones, ”Kud-Sverchkov noted.
The mascot was tied up by Kud-Sverchkov's wife, said the crew commander Sergei Ryzhikov.
The agency clarifies that the mascot is usually used as a weightlessness indicator, which begins to float around the Soyuz spacecraft when the crew enters orbit.
