Singers Jung Joon-young and Choi Jong-hoon, who were handed over to trial for mass rape of drunk women, were sentenced to five years in prison and two years and six months in prison, respectively.

The second part of the Supreme Court (Presidential Judge Park Sang-ok) announced today (24th) that the court sentenced guilty at the appeal of Jung Joon-young and Choi Jong-hoon, who were charged with violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (special level rape).

Kwon Mo, the brother of a famous singer who was indicted with them, was also sentenced to four years in prison according to the court ruling.

Two other defendants were also sentenced to four years in prison and in August respectively.

The court dismissed all appeals, saying, "There is no offense in which the centrifugal judgment misunderstood the law on special quasi rape crimes and forced harassment crimes."

Like the lower level, he did not accept the allegation that the contents of KakaoTalk conversations that supported the alleged crime were illegally collected.

They were charged with collective rape of a drunk woman in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do in January 2016 and Daegu in March, etc.

In late 2015, Jung Jun-young was also charged with distributing illegal filmings 11 times, revealing that he had sex with women in a KakaoTalk chat room where celebrities participated, and transmitted secretly filmed videos.

During the trial, they alleged that some sexual assault charges were'consensual sex'.

However, the first trial admitted that the victims' statements were credible and sentenced Jung Joon-young to six years in prison and Choi Jong-hoon to five years in prison.

Jung Jun-young's claim that the contents of the conversation in the Kakao Talk group room that supported the allegation of sexual assault were illegally collected, and that there was no evidence, was not finally accepted.

The judge pointed out that "the content of the Kakao Talk conversation is essential data for the discovery of the truth."

The contents of the KakaoTalk chat room were first disclosed by the legal representative of the informant.

The informant's side is known to have received the contents of the KakaoTalk conversation from a person who is believed to be an employee of the mobile company who Jung Joon-young requested to restore his mobile phone.

Like the first trial, the second trial admitted all of their charges.

However, considering the agreement with the victim, Choi Jong-hoon's sentence was reduced to two years and six months in prison.

Jung Joon-young was sentenced to five years in prison.
