“Controllers at the Mission Control Center in Houston, with the assistance of US Space Command, are tracking an unknown piece of space debris that must pass within a few kilometers of the International Space Station,” NASA said.

It is noted that it is planned to carry out an evasion maneuver with the help of the Russian Progress spacecraft, which is currently docked to the Zvezda module.

As a precaution, the ISS crew will move to the Soyuz spacecraft until the debris passes the station.
