Cho Kwon, 53, the younger brother of former Justice Minister Cho Kook, who was handed over to trial on charges of irregularities in hiring a teacher at Woongdong Middle School, was sentenced to a sentence of one year in prison at the first trial and was arrested in court.

The 21st Department of the Criminal Agreement of the Seoul Central District Court today (18th) convicted Mr. Cho for obstructing his business and sentenced him to one year in prison.

Cho, who was previously prosecuted under arrest and released on bail in May, was arrested in court as he was sentenced to jail.

Cho, who served as the secretary general of Woongdong Academy, was charged with hiring a social teacher at Woongdong Middle School from 2016 to 2017, receiving a total of 180 billion won from two applicants, and handing over the test questions and answer sheets (obstruction of work, dismissal). Done.

The judge admitted that Mr. Cho was guilty and accused him, saying, "Mr. Jo interfered with the job of hiring teachers and received a large amount of money from the person who wanted to be hired, so the guilt is not light."

However, the court judged him as innocent, considering that Mr. Jo was not in charge of hiring, considering that re-offense was not recognized.

The judiciary also responded to the rest of the charges, including the alleged that Mr. Cho secured the bonds for the construction cost on the basis of false construction, and inflicted damages worth 11.5 billion won to the school corporation by filing undercover lawsuits against Woongdong Academy in 2006 and 2017. They were all acquitted.
