has been criticism that the punishment of a cotton bat that is too generous compared to the seriousness of the crime, the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents that shocked our society in the first half of this year with vicious crimes such as room n and doctoral room.

Under the current law, imprisonment can range from five years to life imprisonment, but the average sentence sentenced by the court from 2014 to 2018 was only two years and six months in prison.

The reason why the Supreme Court's sentencing committee prepared and announced specific sentencing criteria today (15th) is because of this awareness of the problem.

If the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents is produced regularly or multiple times, a maximum sentence of 29 years and 3 months in prison can be given, and a maximum of 27 years and 18 years in prison, respectively, if sold or distributed several times.

In particular, simple purchases or possessions of child sexual exploitation can lead to up to 6 years and 9 months in prison.

The new standards take effect from December of this year.

Therefore, Jo Joo-bin, the doctoral room operator, who was handed over to trial in April, is excluded from the new standard.

However, since it is possible for a judge to refer to the new sentencing standards, it is interpreted that the reinforced standards will have an effect in the case of Jo Ju-bin.
