It was confirmed on the 14th that the prosecution investigating the suspicion of'preferential leave' while the son of Justice Minister Chu Mi-ae, 27, was serving in the military, called Seo as the accused.

The prosecution also investigated Chu's former aide, who is suspected of making vacation-related inquiries over the phone.

The first criminal division of the Seoul East District Prosecutor's Office (Director Prosecutor Kim Deok-gon) said on the 14th that it called on Mr. A, a former assistant to Minister Chu, and investigated Seo on the 13th.

Seo is suspected of having enjoyed various privileges, including not returning to the unit even though he did not receive approval for an extension of vacation while serving as a KATUSA Soldier of the US 2nd Division, the ROK Army Support Group of the 8th Army in Korea.

In particular, in the process of extending the vacation, suspicion was raised that Mr. A, who was then an assistant to Minister Chu, used external pressure, such as making a phone call to the military.

The prosecution is speeding up the investigation by calling out Lieutenant Colonel A, who was the regional commander of the military unit where Seo served recently, Captain B, who was the unit support officer at the time, and C on duty, who was reported to have received reports of the return of Mr. Seo.

Among them, Captain B and Mr. C were resumed about three months after being investigated in June.

It is said that the prosecution called them to investigate, intensively confirming how Seo's vacation was extended and whether there was a request in the process.

Meanwhile, the case in which Minister Chu was accused of violating the Solicitation Prohibition Act alleging that there was a suspicion of illegally soliciting a child's interpreter selection and visa issuance to the Supreme Prosecutors' Office will also be allocated to the Dongbu District Prosecutor's Office on this day.
