The quarantine authorities said that further discussions are needed within the government on the issue of adjusting the '2.5 stage' of social distancing in the metropolitan area.

Joon-wook Kwon, deputy head of the Central Defense Countermeasures Headquarters, said at a regular online briefing, "We have already gathered expert opinions on the intensity and duration of distance distancing and are collecting additional opinions."

The government is carrying out step 2.5 for distance separation until tomorrow, the 13th, and is debating whether to end, re-extend, or choose the'third plan'.

The third plan is known to be a plan to loosen some of the business restrictions on restaurants and cafes while continuing to loosen some of the 2.5 steps.

The script will be announced at a Sunday afternoon meeting after final confirmation of the quarantine level adjustment.

Initially, the script was aimed at '100 or fewer confirmed cases' and raised the level of quarantine in the metropolitan area to 2.5 stages, which is equivalent to stage 3, but the number of new confirmed cases per day is still not falling to double digits.
