<Reporter>

I am in Sokcho Port, Gangwon-do.

Here in Sokcho Port, a lot of rain has been falling since the morning due to the influence of Typhoon High Line, but the rain and wind are getting stronger as time passes.

Including these fishing boats behind me, there are currently over 300 fishing boats anchored in Sokcho Port to avoid typhoons.

Currently, typhoon warnings are issued on the eastern coast of Gangwon and the mountains and all the seas in the central part of the East Sea.

A lot of rain of 20 to 30 mm per hour is falling on the east coast, and concentrated torrential rain of 60 to 70 meters per hour is pouring in the mountainous areas of Yeongdong, such as Misiryeong and Jinburyeong.

As it rains a lot at once, some roads are flooded and rockfalls have occurred in the northern regions of the east coast such as Sokcho, Goseong, and Yangyang, and traffic is controlled.

Roads are controlled due to a landslide in the Mokwoojae Tunnel in Seorak-dong, Sokcho City, and Songcheon-ri in Seomyeon, Yangyang-gun, while traffic is controlled due to flooding in Eoseongjeon-ri, Hyeonbuk-myeon, Yangyang-gun.

In particular, more and more residents are evacuating due to river flooding or flooding crisis.

In Hagwangjeong-ri, Hyeonbuk-myeon, Yangyang-gun, villagers were ordered to evacuate, and Eoseongjeon-ri and Jangseung-ri, Seomyeon, near Hyeonbuk-myeon, were also evacuated to a safe place due to river flooding.

In addition, in Goseong-gun, 29 residents from 14 households in Gyoam-ri and Eocheon-ri are evacuated to the village hall or neighboring houses.

The wind is also getting stronger, so strong winds with a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 15 to 25 m are blowing on the east coast of Gangwon and the mountains.

Typhoon Highship is expected to approach around 70km from Sokcho Port here around 4pm this afternoon.

High waves of up to 12m are predicted in the sea, and the residents need special preparation as the waves hit the low-lying coastal lowlands even during the last typhoon Mysak.
