The consequences of the open war between Apple and Epic Games, publisher of the essential

"Fortnite"

, are multiplying.

Since the American giant banned the video game from its App Store, the number of players on iOS has fallen by 60%, reports Reuters relayed by

Presse-Citron

.

Apple's operating system was indeed a huge market for

Fortnite

.

“Over 116 million registered users have accessed

Fortnite

through iOS,” says Epic Games.

“They spent over 2.86 billion hours in the app.

By eliminating many of these players from

Fortnite

and blocking

Fortnite's

ability

to access over a billion iOS users, Apple is irreparably damaging Epic's chances.

"

A legal battle

The publisher has therefore filed a complaint against Apple but also Google, which has also banned video games from its application store.

In its first decisions, American justice leaned in favor of

Fortnite

without forcing Apple to reintroduce the game on its platform.

This Saturday, Epic Games filed a preliminary injunction to put its game back on the App Store.

Justice will render its decision shortly.

In August, Epic Games implemented a feature allowing players to make purchases on

Fortnite

bypassing the 30% tax introduced by Apple on all purchases made on the App Store.

In reaction, the apple brand had simply banned the video game from its application store, quickly followed by Google, which also takes a percentage of sales made on its Google Play Store.
