Samsung will shut down its cloud service -

Geeko

The South Korean firm is about to draw a line on its cloud storage service.

In anticipation of this retirement of Samsung Cloud, users of the platform will receive an email in the coming days explaining how to extract or transfer their files to another service in the cloud.

If you have registered with Samsung Cloud, it would be better to prepare for the demise of the service.

As a reminder, it is on this that your photos and videos are logically saved, but also your music.

As of October 5, it will no longer be possible to join the service to synchronize files.

Users will be invited to migrate to Microsoft's solution, OneDrive.

A tool to facilitate the transition will be set up at this address, as of this date.

Samsung will also offer the procedure for downloading all of its files.

Subscribers will be refunded

From April 1, 2021, syncing photos, videos and other files will no longer be available.

The easy migration to OneDrive will end.

As for those who have subscribed to a Premium subscription, part of their subscription will be refunded.

Finally, Samsung Cloud will close its doors completely on June 30, 2021.

Samsung specifies in its email that the data saved on its cloud will be deleted shortly after the migration process to One Drive or the downloading of files has been initiated.

We must therefore not forget anything.
