The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korean Medical Association (Medical Association), which have been in conflict over medical policies such as the expansion of medical school gardens, announced today (4th) that "the expansion of medical school gardens and the promotion of new public medical schools will be stopped."



The agreement stated, "The Ministry of Health and Welfare will suspend the expansion of medical school gardens and the establishment of public medical schools, and after the stabilization of Corona 19, open all possibilities in the legislative committee and discuss with the Korean Medical Association."

『Ministry of Health and Welfare-Korean Medical Association Agreement The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korean Medical Association aims to develop the training system for local medical care, essential medical care, medical education and majors, and overcome Corona 19 under the common goal of the development of public health and health care system. Agree as follows:



1. The Ministry of Health and Welfare will stop promoting the expansion of medical school gardens and the establishment of public medical schools, and after the stabilization of Corona 19, open all possibilities in the Protocol Council and discuss with the Korean Medical Association.



In this case, we respect the results of discussions within the National Assembly, which are formed in accordance with the policy agreement of the Democratic Party together with the Korean Medical Association.



In addition, it does not enforce unilateral policies such as notification of medical school gardens.



2. The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korean Medical Association set the agenda on major medical issues such as the development of regional medical support measures such as local fees, nurturing and supporting essential medical care, practical improvement of the training environment for majors, discussions on improving the health care structure, and establishment of a medical delivery system. Organize a legislative council.



The Ministry of Health and Welfare actively reflects and implements the results of discussions of the council in the health care development plan.



3. The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the medical community discuss the four major policies raised by the Korean Medical Association (medical school reinforcement, establishment of public medical schools, a pilot project for consolidation benefits, and non-face-to-face treatment).



4. In order to overcome the Corona 19 crisis, the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korean Medical Association will cooperate closely with each other, and in particular, prepare and implement specific measures to protect medical personnel and support medical institutions.



5. The Korean Medical Association stops the group action and returns to the clinic.
