With the close proximity of the typhoon, the rain and wind are intensifying in Daegu.

Yes, I am now in the Doosan 5-Fork in Daegu.

You can see that the rain is getting thicker as time goes by, but the wind is repetitive and then subsides.

In Daegu and Gyeongbuk, the typhoon warning has been upgraded to a typhoon warning starting at midnight.

Typhoon Mysak landed in Busan at around 2:20 a while ago, and it is expected that it will pass Daegu as close as 4 AM, and it is coming up toward Daegu without weakening its power.

Typhoon Mysak is similar in size to typhoon cicadas, which caused great damage to Daegu in 2003, and is concerned about damage from strong winds and rain.

Up to now, there have been instantaneous power outages in Daegu within 5 minutes from Hyomok-dong and Chilseong-dong, and there have been 45 reports of damage from strong winds such as fallen trees.

Due to the influence of the typhoon, a lot of rain of 100~200mm will fall in Daegu and the inland areas of Gyeongbuk by this morning.

The most worrying thing is the damage from strong winds.

The maximum danger from strong winds in Daegu and Gyeongbuk region is from now to today, and the maximum instantaneous wind speed is expected to reach 20 to 40 m.

If the speed exceeds 40m/sec, not only people but also a running car will be overturned. However, there is a concern about damage to facilities such as a screening clinic installed outdoors and construction sites.

Road control sections are also increasing.

From Gachang Bridge to Beopwangsa Temple, it is a 2.3m road on the left bank of Sincheon, and traffic is restricted to 31 bridges including 7 Jamsu Bridge.

All the sky roads were also cut off.

At Daegu Airport, where the typhoon warning was issued, all 29 aircraft connecting Daegu, Jeju, and Gimpo were canceled from yesterday morning, and 12 additional aircraft were canceled this morning as well.

Five trains on the Gyeongbu Line between Busan Station and Dongdaegu Station have also been suspended.

Major dams, such as Andong Dam and Imha Dam, open sluice gates at once in preparation for typhoons and let water flow.

The Daegu City Office of Education has adjusted the school hours for local elementary, middle and high schools to 10 am today, due to concerns about the damage caused by typhoons.

This typhoon is expected to escape to the west coast of Ulleungdo around 7 am today, so you need to be extra careful not to damage the typhoon overnight.
