A father in his 70s who left five sons under 10 years old in a moldy house was sentenced to probation.

Chuncheon District Law Criminal 2 Exclusive (Director Judge Park Jin-young) sentenced 75-year-old A, who was charged with violating the Child Welfare Act (child abandonment or neglect), to six months in prison and two years probation, and took 40 hours of child abuse re-offense prevention lectures. It was announced yesterday (31st) that it was ordered.

A married a Cambodian nationality woman in 2008 when she was 63 years old and had 5 sons at the age of 1 to 3.

Currently, the first is 10 years old and the youngest is 2 years old.

Between November 14, 2017 and May 23 of the following year, Mr. A said to his son, who was an elementary school student, "Do not go to school. Stay home until you reach middle school."

Also, during the same period, I didn't clean my house, so I raised my children in an environment where the beds, toilets, and kitchens were moldy and smelled badly.

In addition, essential vaccinations for disease prevention were not given, and even if a dental disease occurred, it was left untreated.

The judge ruled that "the victims (due to Mr. A's neglect) actually pose a risk to their health or are in a very dangerous state that would impair their welfare, and the guilt is not light."

However, he explained the reason for the sentence, saying, "The sentence was decided in consideration of the fact that there is no evidence of abuse or intentional neglect, that he has been taught math and English, has no criminal history, and is elderly."
