The Seoul National University Hospital major council announced today (31) that it began to suspend work and submit resignation letters to the effect that it did not comply with the government's order to commence work.

According to the Seoul National University Hospital Majors Council, as of 11 am today, 895 (93.9%) out of 953 students in their majors and 247 (87.9%) out of 281 full-time employees participated in the suspension of work and submission of resignation letters.

Apart from the suspension of work, they announced that they will continue to provide medical support in the form of volunteers as the situation of Corona 19 is severe.

More than 50 doctors from the Seoul National University Hospital Specialist Council supported work at the Seoul National University Hospital Screening Clinic, the Corona 19 Response Ward, Disaster Response Intensive Care Unit, and the Life Therapy Center under the jurisdiction of Seoul National University Hospital.

"Corona 19 treatment promised to the public will continue," said Baek Chang-hyun, chairman of the Seoul National University Hospital Specialist Council, and said, "If the government withdraws the wrong policy, all majors will return to work without delay."
