While the government has ordered commencement of work for major doctors and full-time doctors who are taking group leave indefinitely, we are conducting additional field investigations on 10 hospital emergency rooms and intensive care units in non-metropolitan areas.

Taeho Yoon, head of the Central Accident Control Headquarters (heavy water main) quarantine, said at a briefing held today (31st) at the Government Complex Sejong, "From today, we conducted a third on-site investigation of 10 emergency rooms and intensive care units of training hospitals in the non-metropolitan area and issued an order to commence business. "I plan to issue it."

The government conducted a first on-site investigation of 20 training hospitals in the metropolitan area on the 26th to 27th, and from the 28th, the government confirmed the status of closure of majors in 20 places, including 10 metropolitan areas and 10 non-metropolitan areas, and whether they will return. I figured it out.

Majors and full-time doctors, such as interns and residents, are continuing group leave indefinitely against the government's major health care policies, such as expanding the number of medical schools and establishing public medical schools.

In the case of majors, they have left the clinic for over 10 days since the 21st.

Accordingly, the government issued an order to commence business, ordering that major doctors and full-time doctors belonging to training hospitals in the metropolitan area as well as non-metropolitan areas immediately return to the treatment field, and accused the police of 10 people who did not follow this.

Failure to follow the order to commence business without justifiable reason could result in suspension of license, imprisonment for up to three years, or fines up to 30 million won.

In the case of a medical practitioner, if he/she is disqualified from the safe due to violation of the medical law, it is recognized as a reason for disqualification, and the license may be revoked.

"As the emergency room and the intensive care unit are places to treat critically ill patients, I ask for the return as soon as possible regardless of the government's compulsory administrative measures, considering the sense of duty as a medical person."

General Yoon pointed out that there is a need for'convincing reasons' regarding the group's decision to continue the suspension yesterday.

He said, "Referring to the media reports, the group of majors said that it was for a medical policy in which medical professionals are respected, but it is not sufficient as the reason for the enforcement of refusal of treatment that threatens the lives and safety of the people in the corona 19 crisis situation.

The government is making every effort to reduce the medical gap and the damage caused by group leave.

First of all, in the case of advanced general hospitals, they requested to readjust their functions centering on essential care for severely ill patients, and started operating the'Damage Report and Support Center' from today to support patients who have suffered damage.

The government has expressed its intention to engage in open discussions with the medical community, including major organizations in the future.

When asked if the government and major organizations met to hold a public debate on the topic of expanding medical school quotas and public medical school policies, he said, "I am willing to hold a public debate anytime and will actively promote it."

He said, "It is a situation where malicious or false information is spreading through social network service (SNS) even after checking the facts related to public medical schools several times. We plan to actively accept it not only to provide accurate information but also to build empathy through social discussions. "I said.

The existing position to solve the problem through dialogue with the medical community was also emphasized again.

"The government has already announced several times that it will stop promoting policies and discuss policies with all possibilities open after overcoming the Corona 19 crisis. If you make a policy proposal, we will discuss it with sincerity."
